The wood of fig trees is often soft beige colour with streaks of brown flecks. When finished with a high friction polish it leaves a rich golden look.
It was used to make Mummy Caskets in Ancient Egypt. Certain fig species, mainly F. cotinifolia, F. insipida and F. padifolia) are traditionally used in Mesoamerica to produce Amate paper.
The inner bark of an unknown type of wild fig, locally known as urú, was once used by the More people of Bolivia to produce a fibrous cloth used for clothing.
Timber is sourced from sustainable forests, recycled sources or trees that have fallen and all Timbers have been seasoned naturally.
