English elm
It’s colouring is dull brown with distinctive varied grain and texture, can have pip and burr. Elm has striking contrasting sap is seen as attractive quality. It can be difficult to work with, binds on saw, picks up on planing. Elm is resistant to treatment but will take glue, stain, polish. A slightly durable and failrly strong timber with medium moisture movement.
Grain is interlocked with a somewhat coarse, uneven texture.
Heartwood is light to medium reddish brown. Paler sapwood is usually well defined. Burls of English Elm are frequently referred to as Carpathian Elm burl.

Timber is sourced from sustainable forests, recycled sources or trees that have fallen and all Timbers have been seasoned naturally.
