American White Oak

A$80.00

Cutting Board

306/190/20mm

CB#4

A single solid natural piece of American White Oak Cutting board.

Aesthetically sized and designed for use as a Cheese/cutting board.
Easy for use within the kitchen or on the Dining table Etc.

Finished with a natural Danish oil. A blend of citrus, Eucalyptus and Tung oil.
Limited supply. Care instructions will be emailed after purchase.

Heartwood is a light to medium brown, commonly with an olive cast. Paler sapwood is not always sharply demarcated from the heartwood. Quarter sawn sections display prominent ray fleck patterns tends to have a slightly redder cast, but colour alone isn’t always a reliable method of determining the type of Oak.

Grain is straight, with a coarse, uneven texture.

Produces good results with hand and machine tools. Has moderately high shrinkage values, resulting in mediocre dimensional stability, especially in flatsawn boards. Can react with iron (particularly when wet) and cause staining and discoloration. Responds well to steam-bending. Glues, stains, and finishes well.
